Pain Is Only A Pulse

Light walked over and nelt down beside shadow. She looked him over.
You know us "kids" have names, grandpa. Until you realise that I see no wrong in being rude to a disrespectful old shifter.
Light said in a firm tone.

Light sighed. Shadow was getting a kick out od all of this. Light sat down cross legged. She began to cry silently. Her tears dripping from her cheaks into her lap below.

Cody stopped playing her flute when Light slid down the pole to her and Shadow. A small smile tried to push its way onto her face as she listened to the two speak. She nodded in response to Light's remark and couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. She tilted her head slightly when Light started crying. She wanted desperately to help and she had no idea why.

Cody knelt down in front of Light and looked at her sympathetically.
Hey. Take it easy.
Unable to think of anything else to say, she put her flute to her lips and started playing the same melody as before.
Please don't push away help. I do that too often, I know. But if you need something, please don't hide it.
I feel this desire, no, need, to help you out. You might not want my help, but I don't care. Let us help... please.

Cody didn't know why she thought the words as the melody flowed from her flute. Something just told her that Light would hear her thoughts. She wasn't sure how she knew or if her thoughts were even right. But she didn't care. She wanted to help Light and would do anything, no matter how stupid, to do so.

Light sighed and leaned her head back on shadow's sholder.

Why dont you tell them the truth. That your not alone inside you head. A voice wispered in her mind and Light sighed hearing Cody's comment inside her head.
There's someone else inside my head then just me, to say it in simple terms. Light looked down at at her hands. For some reason now she's trying to get out. I guess she doesnt like being cooped up anymore. Light took in a shaky breath. And if she does get out....It wont be good.

Cody stopped playing again to listen to Light as she spoke. She listened to Light's words and tilted her head slightly.
Is there anything we can do to help? was all she could think of to ask or say.

Light smiled looking at the ground. She looked over at Cody then at Shadow. Light sighed and shook her head.
you could kill me..
She wispered through her teeth. Light pu her head in her hands and breathed trying to calm herself.

Cody wasn't sure what to think about Light's response. She didn't know her, and so didn't know if that was something normal. But she didn't sound like she was kidding.
What? Did I hear you right? Kill you?
Could the second personality really be that bad? Was it torturing her or did she just want to keep everyone else safe? Cody shook her head slowly. She could not think of anything to say.

Light sighed and stood up.
And you people wonder why I lie..
Light walked over to her things and pulled out a hair clip and put up her hair. She reched back down into the bag and pulled out a needle.

Cody watched Light intently, her eyes shifting to a mellow green. Her eyes flashed to a nearly lime green when Light pulled the needle out of her bag. She looked toward Shadow and wondered if he'd noticed Light.
Please tell me that's to help... she said softly, her voice filled with concern

Light raised her eyebrows as shadow fell.
He's such a kid.
Light rolled her eyes. She plunged the needle into the back of her neck around th spine. With a push the liquid that was in the needle was now flowing inside her. She took the needle out and placed it back in her bag. She then looked over at Cody.
It slows her from getting out.

She had to suppress the outburst of laughter that threatened to escape when Shadow fell off the balcony. She couldn't help but almost laugh at his misfortune. Yes, her heart went out to Light, but that was something very rare. Shadow was just someone else she could push away from.
Cody looked back to Light, her head tilted slightly. A shiver ran down her spine when she saw Light inject the needle into the back of her neck. She had never liked needles...
Oh I see.
Her eyes slowly changed from the bright green back to a softer, foresty green.
Are you sure there's nothing I- we can do?

Light smiled at him and then looked through her bag.
iron like this. As she pulled her hand out the iron necklace went flying onto shadow. Light quickly took it off of him.

Crap.. Light mubled diving after him. She didnt think of changing into her owl form. Within a moment Light scooped shadow up in her arms. She relaxed her muscles letting her wings push out of her back. She slowly let them catch wind. Before they hit the ground she swooped back up to the tower. She lightly touched down on the edge. Light looked at shadow in her arms. She scratched his feathery head.
Shadow are you ok?
Consern passed trough her eyes.

shadow didnt answer but gritted his teeth as he peeled his hand off of his arm which the necklace had fallen upon the iron seemingly fixed itself to his skin which had turned red and burned. shadow squeezed his eyes shut and ripped the iron off the skin, but he couldnt help as a whimper passed through his lips. his hand closed over the wound again as he looked up at light one eye closed and he gave a pained smile and through gritted teeth and answered her after a drawn out moment "yeah i think i will be thanks.....thanks for catching me"

Cody watched as the iron necklace slipped from Light's fingers and landed on Shadow. She suppressed more giggles as he fell a second time. Walking to the edge, she watched Light dive down after him and then carry him back up. That was when she noticed the mark the iron had left.
Iron affects you that badly? Huh.
