Speed and strength

Roxie walked a little ways. She found a small path. She was was in her elk form. She heard a small noise behind her. She quickly looked back and shifted into a tiger. He growled. He felt the intense moment. Then she heard nothing... she shifted into an elk again. He trotted on the path, ears pointed back... still listening for any threats.

Kira was walking on the path in the middle of a forest. She had just pulled off her latest hist and was on her way to trade the priceless neckalace for some cold. hard cash. Jak, her faithful wolf companion, was trotting happily at her side. Suddenly, Jak began to growl deeply and he stood in front of Kira to protect. Kira placed the necklace inside her pouch and drew her sword.
"Who's there!" she called out to the trees.

As Roxie trotted she herad a voice. She paused. She shifted into a tiger. She growled, her claws digging into the earth. She saw a wolf... and a girl. She shifted back into an elk, stared at them for a moment. Then started trotting on the path, towards them.

Jak crouched into a fighting stance and barked a warning. He had seen the transformation, however Kira did not. But, she did see Jak's change in stance so she did the same. Every nerve was on edge as she gazed into the trees. Then she saw it, an elk was moving towards them. She sighed and returned her sword to it's scabbord. She placed a hand on Jak's head, trying to calm him.
"It's ok, boy. It's just a doe. Come on, we shouldn't stay here." she said.
But Jak didn't listen. He continued to growl. That's when it came to her. It this was any old doe, she would be running away at the sound of Jak's growl. Yet this one just kept coming. Something wasn't right. Kira drew her sword again and called out, "Who are you? What do you want?"

Roxie stopped. The wolf seemed to have noticed her shift. She looked at the wolf... could he not speak? Or just not human? She decided to communicate with him.. instead of his human. She made no threat.. She snorted softly.. she communicated with the protective wolf.

"I am no threat.... though I am no lunch either, if you hurt me as an elk... I'll hurt you as a tiger. But I wouldn't want to do that to such a caring and protective wolf."

She smiled as a nice charming welcome. She looked at the girl still smiling... she probably hasn't seen a smiling elk before.. She shifted into a human. Still smiling.

This girl and the wolf could probably tell she was friendly.

Kira couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the deer suddenly turn into a human girl. She grasped her sword tighter and took a step back. However, Jak understood what the girl was doing and relaxed. He whimpered for Kira to do the same. She saw the change in her wolf's behavior and shethed her sword.
Who are you? Are you friend or foe?" she asked, putting a hand on Jak's head.

Roxie was full of happiness. Mostly always happy. The wolf calmed down. Roxie held out her hand so he could sniff it. After he knew her scent she looked back at the girl. Then looked at the wolf. Roxie loved animals. She shifted into a wolf. She put her body into a play-bow. She hoped that he wouldn't just sit there... and be joyless. She talked to the wolf.

"Do you like play? Or just protect humans?"

Roxie grinned. This wolf seemed to have protected and helped his human a lot. Roxie always wanted a sidekick!

Kira watched in confusion as the girl seemed to ignore her and turned into a wolf. She then play bowed in front of Jak, asking for something. Jak growled softly and backed up toward his mistress. He hadn't had the socialness of other dogs and was confused by this wolf's actions. Kira had had enough of this tom foolery and started to walk away from the strange shifter.
"I'm sorry, but we're kinda in a hurry. If I were you, I wouldn't follow us. We're wanted and being with us might put you in danger." Kira warned.
Jak trotted after his mistress, but took a look behind him at the she-wolf. He was curious about her and wanted to know more, but Kira came first. He barked once, as if to say something, and kept pace with Kira.
Little did the duo know that they were being watched. High in the trees, a man dressed in black was hidding and watching. He was a highered bounty hunter and his next target was a young thief, female, and her pet wolf.

Roxie frowned as the wolf growled. She just wanted to play. Geez... what's his problem... I guess some wolves dunno how to act like... they should. Roxie tilted her head a bit. Then she heard the girl speak. She shifted into a human. She didn't say anything. She heard a soft rustle. She shifted into a tiger and growled. Nothing was behind her...

Roxie looked back at the wolf and girl. The wolf seemed a little overprotective. Roxie hated it when canines did this. What's so great about protecting humans? I mean, of course they're loyal.. but still. I think they both just need some encouragement... The girl seems serious.. and the wolf seems curious yet wise.

Kira noticed the shapeshifter had turned back into a human and she sighed. She turned around and put her hands on her hips.
"Look, if you want to come with us, then you'll have to keep up. And I have already warned you about the danger of traveling with us. If you are willing to risk it then you are welcome. My name is Kira Frintar, and this is my companion Jak. Who are you? Can you talk?" Kira asked.
She didn't know if it was a good idea, but this girl was able to turn into a large tiger. She was fully capible of taking care of herself. Kira smiled sweetly, as she started to show her true colors. She hated being rude to others, but she was a crimanal and sometimes it was nessisary. She looked down at Jak, showing him her smile. He relaxed now and even barked at the girl, hoping that she would follow them now.

Ikeda flew over head,enjoying as the wind wisped in her face.She has not seen or spoken to anyone in quite a while.The way of a loner was boring and of course,lonesome.But suddenly she spotted a couple of shifters down below.Hoping to have a conversation,she swooped down on a branch overhead and watched.

Roxie smiled as well. She shifted into a human. "Of course I speak. I'd like to come along. And I'd have no problem keeping up." Roxie shifted into a wolf as she heard the wolf's bark. She trotted up next to him. Keeping her tail low, to show him, she was no threat. She sniffed his muzzle. She sniffed his face, so she could get information. Any canine who didn't sniff before greeting... would probably get a negative response from the other canine. Roxie smiled at Jak and Kira.

Ikeda peered down,a tasty mouse scurried in the undergrowth.Swooping down she picked up the mouse and killed it in one swift bite.She then walked out of the bushes and it front of the group.She began gulping down her mouse.
